Joshua - Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Breathwork Practitioner

Hi there,

Thanks for visiting my website. I hope you find this information helpful and it inspires you to book a session with me, either now or when you’re ready. If you want to know more about my offerings or would like an opportunity to connect, then you can book a free connection call here.

To be fully present and listen deeply to another human being is a gift. I strive to do so without judgment, with a heart full of compassion, and with positive regard for each person's unique experience in this life. I trust and am guided by the wisdom within the heart, body, breath, and mind of everyone I support.

My mission is to support people through their change process by helping them access their inner power and wisdom, release self-limiting beliefs, and foster personal growth. Passionate about supporting mental health and higher states of consciousness, I help clients experience more joy, ease, and freedom. My trauma-informed practice is tailored to clients' needs and goals, working with people from all walks of life, genders, and sexualities.

I have historically struggled to feel a sense of safety or belonging in community and have found it hard to express my emotional needs honestly. Denying my authentic expression, coupled with isolation, depression, and anxiety, led me to commence my therapeutic process in my mid-20s. I have used meditation, plant medicines, nature-connection practices, breathwork, and holistic psychotherapy/counselling to support my growth process, and I continue to explore these methods today.

A key part of my healing process has been returning to the intelligence of my body. For this reason, my practice integrates various somatic awareness methods to enhance clients’ capacity to listen to and act on the wisdom of the body. Breathwork is my most favoured tool for this purpose, along with other mind-body techniques and holistic therapies.

Beyond my work as a breathwork practitioner and therapist, I work in the non-government sector, and have previously worked in politics, the university, international aid, and development sectors. As a proud member of the LGBTIQ+ community with roots in rural Australia, I bring a unique perspective to my work. I am known for my laughter, gentleness, curiosity about people and their life experiences, and my exploration of the world and various spiritual practices. I deeply cherish my time alone in nature and value fostering quality connections with friends and family.
